When Emil White started the Henry Miller Memorial Library as a 501(c)3 nonprofit arts organization in 1981, he envisioned creating a refuge in the redwoods where people could enjoy live music and art events, and learn more about his best friend’s rich literary legacy.
Forty-three years (!) later, Emil’s vision is alive and well…thanks to support from people like you!
Every donation to the Library, no matter how small, is greatly appreciated.
Your support enables us to meet our annual operating costs and critical capital expenses, like becoming compliant with parking, water treatment and disability access requirements.
With your support, we produce an array of live events, many of which are either free or by donation so that no one is turned away due to lack of funds.
And your generosity will allow us to embark on our next big project — purchasing the canyon behind us (henceforth known as “Emil’s Canyon”) and transforming it into a redwood botanical garden that will include a small ceremony/meditation/reading site.
By donating, we’ll add you to the monthly Henry Miller Library Email Digest, which includes deals, discounts, “early bird” specials on select events and interesting content on Henry, Big Sur and much more. (Click here for a previous Digest to see what you’ll get.)
So from all of us at the Henry Miller Memorial Library, thank you for supporting Emil’s vision and making it available to future generations of visitors, art lovers, and seekers!
