Don't let the gnats get you down. Remember that Miller prospered in the thirties, one of the worst periods in all of world history. This is just an aspect of America that has to be lived with because it will never go away. Just think of our longest and biggest terrorist wars against the Indians. American history is always in the making and the same battles must be fought over and over again. Utopia is fighting the battles, not winning them. Don't forget how to dance and don't forget to dance.
I think you've got to shut out the din of the daily press and television however, because they simply express the views of the tiny minority that owns and controls them. The truth is still out there, and it hasn't changed. But don't allow yourself to be captured my multi media at any time or you certainly will become terminally depressed. Dig for the truth even if it is hidden where it usually is, under a lot of bull shit.
