: Does anybody know where Henry Miller and Anais Nin's ashes were thrown out at sea? I heard conflicting locations, but the general consensus is that the ashes were scattered at Point Dume near Zuma Beach, California. I am trying to confirm this for a book listing I am doing. Can anybody give me information on this??
Here's what Kathryn Winslow wrote: "As he wished, Henry Miller's ashes were taken to Big Sur to be scattered there. Val (Miller's second daughter) kept the copper box that contained them on the mantel over the fireplace in the living room until December 26, 1983, which would have been her father's ninety-second birthday. That day she carried the box down to the sea below Partington Ridge, and released some of the ashes into the outgoing tide. She took the rest back to the house, where they remain."
