What better place in the world to see this film?
An exclusive screening at the Henry Miller Library – where much of it happened.
This includes a short live set by Bill Callahan.
As we edge ever closer to the close of the fateful year 2012, Bill Callahan jumps the gun with his own personal Apocalypse. This is important work. Brace yourself. Apocalypse is coming.
Apocalypse is a tour film from the US leg of Bill Callahan’s 2011 tour for the also-titled Apocalypse album.
It is a collection of live performances and scenes from the road, many of them from the Henry Miller Library here in Big Sur —but above all, it is a visual love letter to America with a soundtrack performed by one of its greatest songwriters.
Filmmaker Hanly Banks explores the changing landscape through the windows of Bill’s tour van through California, the midwest, and back to the Big Apple in a psychedelic tapestry of footage from one of the most talked-about traveling acts of last summer.
Beer & Wine will be available.
