So Philip Glass, Joanna Newsom, and Tim Fain are performing at a benefit concert for the Henry Miller Library at the Warfield in  SF on June 25th.  (Tickets here.)

But one thing that will be particularly cool about this show is the fact that Philip, Joanna, and Tim performing solo pieces, but also will collaborate together.  That’s cool.

There may be a precedent for this kind of performance, but we can’t think of one off the top of our heads.

Traveling Wilburys?  Eh…too similar, genre-wise.

Yo La Tengo & the Sun Ra Arkestra performing “Nuclear War?”   Getting warmer (pun intended.)

Chickenfoot?  Closest yet.  But not close enough.

Our point: this will be a pretty amazing musical experience.  And it’s for a good cause.
