Another day, another wonderful Big Sur Writing Workshop testimonial.
Here’s how it works. Twice a year, the Henry Miller Library, along with Andrea Brown Literary Agency, present the Big Sur Writing Workshop for Children to Young Adults. There’s one coming up: March 1-3 in Seaside, CA (right next to Monterey.) Read about it and register here.
It’s the coolest workshop of its kind in the world, and we have proof to back this up: alumni blog about its coolness. Unsolicited, even!
So here’s one from our pal Sean W. Byrne. Read the whole thing here, but here’s a money quote:
“If you are considering going and you are like me (shy), all I can say is GO. The critique groups are very small (no larger than 5), so you get a lot of individual attention (I workshopped with a literary agent and an editor).
The whole vibe is very relaxed, and you’re in a beautiful spot in a redwood forest, surrounded by kindred spirits…and if that isn’t perfect, what is? Between the critique sessions and the panel discussions, you will learn a lot not only about writing, but the industry as well.

Some of Sean’s illustrations….
Between the critique sessions and the panel discussions, you will learn a lot not only about writing, but the industry as well.
I now have new friends all over the country, and some have become long-distance critique partners.”
(Us again.)
So if you or a friend is dabbling in children’s writing, fiction, or the YA genre and want some valuable hands-on feedback along with the possibility of getting signed by an Andrea Brown agent, do not delay.
Register here before it sells out!
