“The Henry Miller Memorial Library in Big Sur got a bit of bad news about a year ago that threatened its ability to put on public events. But that was then, this is now.
“A year later, after a three-pronged fundraising drive that got a huge boost Friday night with a concert by renowned singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright, the nonprofit library is almost out of the woods, so to speak.
“We’re not quite done, there’ll probably be a Phase 4 to fulfill the last of the dollar needs,” said Magnus Toren, executive director of the library. “There are still details regarding all the county requests that have to be worked out…..”
