The option to move to another location didn't seem right for this workshop. We will let you know when we decide to do it. Sign up for e-mail here.

DIRECTIONS/HOW TO GET HERE

Find out how to let your stories and words tumble happily out of your head and onto the page as you discover the value of sharing your stories within a creative community. Author and artist of Juicy Pens, Thirsty Paper, A Creative Companion, Make Your Creative Dreams Real, and many other juicy titles, SARK designed this  fun, interactive  workshop especially for creative writers, journal-keepers, and anyone with stories to share. You will leave with a writing guidebook you can use throughout the year.

When she was 10 years old, SARK announced to her mother, "I’m supposed to be a beacon of hope to the world and write books." Her mother told her to eat her peanut butter sandwich. Although SARK wrote her first book that same year, she didn’t become a published author until age 34 because of fear, procrastination, and perfectionism. In this workshop we will learn all the ways she uses to deal with these blocks to our full creative expression.

In the evening of Friday 21 we will have a cocktail party at the Lodge for everyone. H.M. Library Director Magnus Toren will give a talk about Henry Miller, Big Sur and how he got this way.

Saturday night SARK will present her film “WORLD ACCORDING TO SARK” in the conference hall. Before dinner on Saturday, at 5.30 PM, we will go on a private tour of the Henry Miller Library. (optional of course).

Great lodging and gourmet food at the Big Sur Lodge. All rooms are large, many with fireplace, most with separate bedroom, many with kitchen, choices are many.

"Writing is not a game played according to rules.
Writing is a compulsive, and delectable thing.
Writing is its own reward."
Henry Miller

"What little I have learned about writing amounts to this:
it is not what people think it is. It is an absolutely new thing each time with each individual."
